How many cars can a turntable fit?

Depending on its diameter and capacity, a turntable can fit up to two cars.

What is the load capacity of a car turntable?

At Australian Turntables, we provide operating weight capacities that vary from 3000kg for Spinsy, 4000 Kg for the compact CTX with single car accommodation & up to 8000 Kg for the larger CTX+ 2 car units.

*We can also custom engineer larger weight capacities according to your project requirements.

How much room do I need to install a turntable?

It is recommended that you have a clearance zone around your turntable. This space is required as vehicles can overhang the turntable edge. We recommend that you allow at least 600mm more than your longest car length. This allows for some misalignment when parking on the turntable platform. If adequate clearance is not available, then anti-collision sensors can be included.

What extra safety features are available for car turntables?

  • Anti-collision system: A sensor system that will stop the rotation in case of a possible collision with close walls, columns or other cars. This system can be designed and supplied in spaces or projects where there is a greater risk of collision during rotation. Each project is different, so these systems are designed on a case by case basis. If collisions with people might be a possibility, then a higher-level safety system will be required.
  • Emergency stop: An emergency stop button can be  mounted on the control panel or other locations in case of danger due to possible collision or other risk situations.

How does the turntable operate?

The turntable is operated via a remote control or by the main control panel toggle switch. As standard, the operation is a hold to run mode so in the case of a potential issue, releasing the button will automatically stop the turntable. The turntables are bi-directional.

What are the flooring and finishing options?

We have a range of standard options to choose from as well as an inhouse design & engineering team for any bespoke requirements.

Some of the standard options are:

  • Standard checker plate using galvanised steel.
  • Paver riser version: allows you to customise your surface to a variety of options such as concrete, pavers, wood, etc.
  • 316 stainless steel: can be included to help with corrosive environments or even when a polished concrete floor surface is required.

The list here is endless as we can accommodate all types of finishes required.
